The 27-year-old Swiss midfielder has undergone a turbulent few days at the North London club after his furious reaction to being booed off by his own fans.
Arsenal could reportedly wash their hands off midfielder Granit Xhaka by selling the midfielder in the January transfer window, as per reports.
The Switzerland international was told by manager Unai Emery on Tuesday that he would no longer wear the captain’s armband after his altercation with the Gunners’ fans.
Xhaka was furious at the way the crowd booed him off the pitch against Crystal Palace at the end of October and responded by telling those jeering him to ‘f** off.’
That episode left the club in a difficult situation with the player stepping short of offering an all-out apology that may have repaired his strained relations with the club’s faithful, with reports now claiming that Arsenal are looking for potential suitors for the 27-year-old.
