Arsenal refuse Monaco’s offer for midfielder, Chelsea plot transfer move for Ligue 1 goalkeeper and more news

Apart from the Ligue 1 outfit who were interested in the permanent signing of the 20-year-old, several Premier League clubs are also seeking a loan deal for the attacking midfielder.

AS Monaco have seen their offer for Emile Smith Rowe refused by Arsenal as the Gunners aren’t keen on letting the 20-year-old leave the club permanently, according to Daily Mail.

The Ligue 1 outfit have been the first side to firm up their interest in the 20-year-old who impressed during his loan spell at Huddersfield last season. The attacking midfielder managed 2 goals and two assists in 13 starts in the Championship during his six-month-long stay at The Terriers.

Smith Rowe also has admirers in England as his hometown club Crystal Palace have reportedly expressed an interest in securing a permanent move for the youngster. Fulham and Leeds, meanwhile, are the two sides keen on signing the midfielder on loan.

But despite attracting transfer interest from numerous clubs, the 20-year-old is expected to be a part of the Gunners senior side next season, as Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta claimed earlier this year that he was ‘excited to work’ with the attacking midfielder.

After a string of unimpressive displays from their first-choice goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in the recently concluded campaign, Chelsea are keen on signing a shot-stopper this summer.

Chelsea have identified Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan as a possible replacement of Kepa Arrizzabalaga at Stamford Bridge, reports Sky Sports [via Metro].

The report further adds that the 25-year-old shot-stopper is valued at around €30m by the Ligue 1 outfit. His potential move to West London might signal the end of the road for the current Chelsea number-one Kepa who performed poorly last season.

Kepa moved to the Premier League for a word-record fee of £71.6 million back in 2018 but has struggled to justify his enormous price tag and is currently being linked with a move away from Chelsea.

The 2019/20 campaign was a particularly dismal one for the Spain international as his poor performances between the sticks left manager Frank Lampard with no choice but to bench the 25-year-old and pick veteran Willy Caballero after the resumption of football in March.

The Manchester United manager is in the middle of trimming down his squad to potentially free up transfer funds and space for new signings.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has allowed the youngster trio of James Garner, Dylan Levitt and Matej Kovar to leave Manchester United on loan for the 2020/21 campaign, as per Manchester Evening News.

Among the trio Garner is attracting the most interest after raising eyebrows with his performances for United’s senior side last season. The 19-year-old made six appearances for the senior side and looks likely to spend the upcoming season on loan at Swansea City.

Goalkeeper Kovar meanwhile is linked with the likes of Doncaster Rovers and Swindon Town as the young star is keen to play at the senior level in the upcoming campaign. It remains to be seen which side Levitt, who made his debut for the Wales National side last year, would play for next season.

The Red Devils’ manager has already sanction the temporary departures of youngster Tahith Chong and Aliou Traore for Werder Bremen and Caen, respectively.
