Arsenal transfer news: Gunners identify Hector Bellerin replacement

  • Arsenal have identified the replacement for Barcelona– and Paris Saint-Germain-linked Hector Bellerin, according to reports
  • The Spain international was linked with a move away from Arsenal last summer before he was convinced to stay put by Mikel Arteta
  • However, with PSG joining the list of the right-back’s admirers, it’s believed he’d bid farewell to his Gunners’ teammates in the summer

Arsenal have identified Brighton and Hove Albion right-back Tariq Lamptey as a future replacement for Hector Bellerin, according to Football.London.

The 25-year-old right back has been linked with a move away from The Emirates after spending more than eight seasons with the club since his arrival from Barcelona in 2013.

Bellerin came through the youth ranks of the Camp Nou outfit before opting for a move to the North London outfit due to prospects of minimal game time at Barca.

His decision paid dividends for the 5’10’’ full-back as Bellerin has went on to make more than 230 appearances for the Gunners during his stay at the club.

However, with both Barcelona and PSG in the market for a new right-back next summer, it seems that Bellerin would leave Mikel Arteta’s side at the end of the season.

And should that event comes to pass, Arsenal would turn their attentions towards Graham Potter’s side in their search for the Spaniard’s replacement.

Will Bellerin leave Arsenal in the summer?

Chances of Bellerin leaving Arsenal to join Barcelona or PSG are quite bright right now. Partly because rumors linking him with an exit from the Premier League have resurfaced only months after Arteta convinced Bellerin to spend the 2020/21 campaign with the Gunners.

Another reason why Bellerin could leave in the summer has to do with Cedric Soares. The former Southampton full-back, who Arsenal signed last summer, has particularly impressed in recent games, while also featuring at the left-back position.
