The Gunners have struggled for goals this season as they have outscored only Sheffield United and Bournemouth in the top half of the Premier League table.

Erling Haaland and his father have reportedly visited Arsenal’s Colney training ground and held discussions with the club’s higher-ups, reports Sport Witness.

The 19-year-old striker has been attracting interest from some of Europe’s top clubs this season after exploding to the scene with his brilliant performances in the Champions League.

Haaland is currently the top scorer in Europe’s elite club competition, with the Norwegian managing 7 goals in only five appearances for Red Bull Salzburg.

With his club almost out of this season’s Champions League, transfer news have linked Haaland with a move away from Austria in the January transfer window, with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United touted as potential destinations for the teenager.

The transfer news linking Haaland with Arsenal has come only days after it was reported that the player and his father made a similar visit to the Carrington training ground of Man United.

Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly a huge fan of the striker whom he gave his debut back when the duo was at Norwegian club Molde FK.

The Red Devils have faltered in front of goals this season with injuries to key forwards blunting their attack and forcing them to 7th place in the Premier League table.

However, given the state the club currently finds itself in, it will take a gigantic coup on the part of Vice-Chairman Ed Woodward to convince Haaland to ignore other clubs and move to Manchester.

Arsenal won’t want to happen that for obvious reasons as the Gunners, despite spending over 72m on French forward Nicolas Pepe in the summer, are still overly dependent on Pierre Emerick Aubameyang for goals.

The Arsenal and Man United transfer target is a powerful center-forward who burst onto the European scene with his brilliant performances earlier this season.

In addition to being the top goal-scorer in this season’s Champions League, Haaland has also managed 15 goals and provided six assists to his teammates in 12 Austrian Bundesliga games already this campaign.

His explosive form in front of goal hasn’t gone unnoticed with transfer news linking the 19-year-old to several big European clubs including Arsenal, Man United and Real Madrid.

Both the Premier League clubs will have to up their game if they want to land the in-demand striker, though, as he might want to play Champions League football with his next club.

However, given the fact that both Arsenal and Man United are currently 8 and 9 points off the top four in the Premier League, respectively, odds are slim for either of them qualifying for next season’s competition.
