After managing Arsenal for 22 years, Arsene Wenger speaks about his time at the Emirates and makes a bold statement about his return to the North London club, which may not make Gunners fans happy.
Former Monaco manager, who laid the foundation for Arsenal’s success decades back, says that there is no going back to the Emirates after the Frenchman left the club in 2018.
“Would I return to the Emirates Stadium? I always said to myself that I would be leaving Arsenal completely. That’s the decision I made. I managed the club for 1,235 games, I’ve had good and bad times there, but we always tried to defend the club’s values. And I think we managed to do it.” Wenger told beIN Sports [via Daily Mirror].
Wenger, the only manager to win golden Premier League trophy with North London club in 2003-04, is happy that Liverpool couldn’t match the record. “We always like to be the only ones to achieve something. They (Liverpool) could really go all the way. But it shows that it's difficult to repeat this feat.”
Fans will be able to watch Messi’s dribbling and free-kicks on the weekends as Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez gives the go-ahead to LaLiga with a start date of June 8 following directions from Spain’s Ministry of Health.
However, league officials are yet to announce the exact return date for the Primera División, but the president Javier Tebas is hopeful to restart matches from June 12.
“We are very happy for the decision, it is the result of the great work of clubs, players, technicians, CSD (National Sports Council) and agents involved.” Tebas reacted on the news.
Barcelona ready to offload Philippe Coutinho as the Brazilian looking to make a return to the Premier League claims ESPN.
Coutinho, who joined Blaugrana from Liverpool in 2018 for a large sum of money, couldn’t make his first impression count and soon loaned out to the Bundesliga side Bayern Munich with an option to sign the Brazilian forward permanently, the opportunity which Bayern refused to avail.
With clubs reluctant to spend big, FCB are willing to take the loss and will be happier with ex-Inter Milan player going back to the PL as Chelsea are interested in the 27-year-old.
But according to Coutinho’s agent, no negotiation has been made with any club and things will be clearer when normal service resumes in the football world. “The transfer side of things and where Philippe will go, or where other players will go, will come into play further down the line when things have got back to some sort of normality.” Kia Joorabchian told talkSPORT.
