The 27-year-old Brazilian forward is currently on a season-long loan at Bayern Munich where has found the back of the net 9 times in the currently-suspended Bundesliga campaign.

Barcelona manager Quique Setien has rubbished speculation that Philippe Coutinho won’t be welcomed back at the Camp Nou upon his return from Bayern Munich at the end of this season.

The 27-year-old Brazilian forward was signed by the reigning Bundesliga champions on a season-long loan last August, with a clause in his contract giving the Bavarian side the option to turn his temporary stay in Germany into a permanent one.

However, despite the fact that Coutinho has scored 9 times in Bundesliga this season, his €100m valuation by Barca have put-off Bayern from activating that clause, with the result that the former Liverpool midfielder will be back at the Camp Nou once the ongoing season ends.

In an interview with RAC1, the former Real Betis boss insisted that he is counting on the Brazilian to start the next season with the Catalan giants.

“I really like him. He is a player who in principle, is from Barça, either the clause should be paid or the transfer paid.

“I am counting on him being here to start the season. I don’t know if he wants to return or leave, I’ll talk to him when the time comes.

Prior to his move to Germany last August, Coutinho had featured in 76 games for Barca in all competitions, scoring 21 goals in the process.

Chelsea continue to be liked with the Brazilian

Although Setien may insist that Coutinho still has a future at the Camp Nou, reports coming out from Spain claim that the club still wants to see the back of the Brazilian.

As we reported in these pages before, Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona want to offer the 27-year-old in a swap-deal to Chelsea that would see French World Cup winner N’Golo Kante joining his forces with the Camp Nou giants.

The Blues boss Frank Lampard is reportedly a fan of the Brazilian international and wants to secure his services on a season-long loan in the summer.

Barca are ready to let Coutinho leave but with an added condition that the Blues add a clause in his loan deal that would give them the option to sign the Brazilian on a permanent basis next summer.
