The La Liga trailblazers are making the Argentinian their top priority this summer and, according to Goal, are planning a huge financial package to bring him to Camp Nou.

Lautaro Martinez has attracted interest from all over Europe this season following his stunning form for Inter, scoring 16 goals in 31 appearances before the COVID-19 outbreak halted his progress.

Nonetheless, the Catalan giants are convinced they can work out a deal to bring him to Spain, and believe that an offer worth €10 million (£9m/$11m) a year will be enough to tempt Martinez.

Chelsea have also been mentioned as Lautaro’s main suitors, although they have their sights primarily set on Jadon Sancho as their main transfer target for this summer. Barcelona will also face a race against the clock, as Lautaro’s release clause of €111 million set to expire on July 15.

"Cristiano may return to Madrid one day"

Although the Juventus superstar only recently left Madrid, his international team-mate sees no reason for him not to return at one point in his future.

“Ronaldo has always left the door open for a return to Real,” says Jose Fonte, Ronaldo’s compatriot and national team buddy. Ronaldo left Real Madrid in the summer of 2018 after nine trophy-laden years.

“I think it’s clear that he loves that club, he won numerous trophies and left as an absolute winner, so there would be no surprises if he decides to return in the future.”

For now, it seems that Ronaldo is enjoying his stay in Turin, as his numbers would suggest. With 21 goals in 22 league appearances, age is really just a number for this man!

At one point in his career, the Manchester United defensive stalwart considered leaving the Theatre of Dreams. The Catalans’ appeal didn’t go unnoticed, but he ultimately decided to stay.

England and Man Utd icon Rio Ferdinand opened up about his career, stating Barcelona tried to sway him while at the peak of his powers, during United’s European triumph in 2008.

He was asked about these claims on BT Sport, stating: “The interest was there. Everything happened after the game against Barcelona, when we drew 0:0. I spoke to Rijkaard (then Barca coach), and he made his feelings known.”

“I guess what stopped me from making the move abroad was the success I had at home. I was really fortunate to be at a great club like Manchester United and it was really difficult to move.”

After six Premier League titles and a Champions League title – can we really blame him?
