Barcelona star furious with the club, Man Utd working on Sancho alternative and more news

The 33-year-old Uruguay international was on the verge of signing for Atletico Madrid before Barcelona pulled the plug on his transfer.

Luis Suarez is furious with Barcelona for backtracking on an agreement to let him join Atletico Madrid this summer, reports ESPN.

The report further adds that while the Camp Nou outfit had previously given Suarez the green-light to leave the club on a free transfer, they backpedaled after learning that the Uruguayan forward was to sign for their fierce rivals Atleti.

Barcelona’s change in stance has infuriated the 33-year-old who might hold a press conference alongside his lawyers in the coming days if the situation isn’t resolved amicably. The forward is reportedly adamant that Barca should abide by their end of the bargain and allow him to terminate his contract.

The former Ajax and Liverpool forward has been planning an exit from Barcelona after being told by new manager Ronald Koeman that he is surplus to requirements at the Catalan outfit.

The Old Trafford outfit have been frustrated by Borussia Dortmund’s stance of not lowering their €120m valuation of the England international Sancho.

Manchester United have begun looking at Jadon Sancho’s alternatives after being frustrated in their attempts to sign the Borussia Dortmund forward, per TalkSport’s Alex Crook.

Sancho, 20, has been on the transfer radar of the Red Devils after exploding to the European scene with his scintillating performances for Dortmund over the past three seasons. The England international has been excellent for the Bundesliga outfit and has scored 35 goals in 101 appearances.

However, while both the player and United have reportedly reached an agreement on his wages and agents’ fees, Dortmund’s €120m valuation of Sancho is proving to be a major stumbling block for the Red Devils who insist that the price tag is unreasonable in the COVID-19 climate.

Their stance has convinced the Old Trafford outfit to start looking at alternatives to the former Manchester City star and one of the players they are looking at is Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele. TeamTalk reports that the France international won’t come cheap as Barca value him at around €80m.

Following the arrival of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City earlier this summer, the left-back has fallen further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Juventus and Inter Milan are both interested in signing Emerson Palmieri from Chelsea this summer, according to TalkSport.

Palmieri joined Chelsea from Roma in a €20m deal in January 2018 but has failed to cement his spot in the Blues’ starting XI. The 26-year-old has made only 55 appearances for the Stamford Bridge outfit in his first 3 ½ seasons and is yet to play a minute for them this campaign.

His diminished status at Chelsea was dealt another blow following the arrival of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City earlier this summer. With the Blues already having the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso at the club, Palmieri is now their fourth choice left-back.

The defender’s precarious situation at the London-based club hasn’t gone unnoticed back in Italy as both Juventus and Inter Milan are eyeing his signature. The Old Lady are reportedly interested on signing him on loan, although Chelsea are favoring a sale.
