All the latest Bayern Munich news
Only three days after the goalkeeper suggested that his contract negotiations with the Bavarian side were on hold, it seems that both the parties have finally made a breakthrough.
Bayern Munich reached a deal with Manuel Neuer that will keep the German shot-stopper at the club beyond 2021 when his previous contract with the club was set to expire.
The welcome news for the Bayern faithful has come only three days after Neuer admitted in an interview that his contract negotiations with the Bavarian side were on hold.
Sport Bild had reported in April that the major sticking point in the negotiations was the salary demand of the German goalkeeper. Neuer was reportedly asking Bayern to give him a five-year contract with €20 million in annual salary.
The report further added that Neuer’s salary demand was based on what Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Hernandez earn at the club. However, if the latest reports coming out from Germany are anything to go by, the 34-year-old has reached a compromise with his side.
Bayern Munich are in talks with Barcelona to reach an agreement with the Catalan side that would extend Philippe Coutinho’s loan stay at the club beyond June 30, reports Bild.
The 27-year-old playmaker, who has 8 goals and six assists in 15 Bundesliga starts this season, is currently facing a spell on the sidelines due to the ankle surgery he underwent last month.
His performances in Bayern colors have been well above-average and might be the reason behind the club’s insistence that he finishes the current campaign in Germany.
Hansi Flick wants the Brazilian to be at the club when Champions League resume in August and help the side challenge for the title.
Leroy Sane has lowered his wage demands to convince Bayern Munich to make a move for his services in the summer transfer window, as per Bild.
The 23-year-old Germany international has long been on the transfer radar of the Bundesliga champions who see him as a successor of Arjen Robben at the club.
Bayern originally wanted to secure Sane’s services last summer but were put off by Man City’s astronomical valuation of the winger.
Recent reports claim that City, after being initially reluctant to let the winger leave the club, are now willing to cash in on him this summer. Pep Guardiola’s side fear that if they continue to hold on to the winger, they run the risk of letting the winger run down his contract and leave for free.
