Bayern Munich vs. Borussia Dortmund: Lewandowski’s hat-trick sends Bayern two points clear at the top. Bundesliga Result: Bayern Munich 4-2 Borussia Dortmund

Robert Lewandowski's hat-trick was his 13th in the Bundesliga

Robert Lewandowski scored a hat-trick against his former club as Bayern Munich came on top in Bundesliga Clasico.

Borussia Dortmund were well on their course to a victory when their star man Erling Haaland scored twice inside nine minutes. Throgan Hazard, who started in the place of injured Jadon Sancho, provided the assist for Haaland’s second goal.

But it was all Bayern after that and the defending champions restored parity before half time, thanks to a brace from former BVB striker Robert Lewandowski. Hansi Flick’s side started the second half where they left the first and Leon Goretzka drilled Bayern ahead in 88th-minute.

Lewandowski then completed his hat-trick in 90th-minute as the Polish striker confirmed a return to the top of the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich.

The defeat means Borussia Dortmund slip down to seventh in Bundesliga, sixteen points adrift of leaders Bayern Munich.

What’s next?

Hansi Flick’s men will travel to Werder Bremen in the league on 13th March, while Borussia Dortmund will welcome La Liga outfit Sevilla in the second leg of UEFA Champions League R-16.
