Blues transfer news – Chelsea chasing Bayern left-back, loanee midfielder signs new one-year contract, and Havertz boost after Man City win

After Leicester put a price tag of £70million on Ben Chilwell, Chelsea have turned their sights on Bayern Munich left-back, reports the Sun.

After securing the services of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, Frank Lampard was all set to complete his 3rd signing before Brendon Rodgers’ gigantic valuation of England left-back forced Chelsea off.

However, the West London Club is reportedly lining up a bid for Bayern Munich’s David Alaba, who turned 28 recently.

With Alphonso Davies cementing his position under Hansi Flick, Alaba may fancy Blues’ offer where he would be a guaranteed starter.

But according to many news outlets including Football London, Ben Chilwell remains the number one transfer target and the Austrian could be a panic buy if Chelsea failed to meet the price tag of Foxes’ left-back.

According to Bild, the 21-year-old will sit on the table with his current employers in the first week of July after DFB Pokal final to discuss his future.

As the youngster is keen to play in Europe, Bayer Leverkusen will, most probably, lose their star man if their current standing in the league table -5th– stays same at the end of Bundesliga season.

With Bayern Munich also interesting in Havertz, Allianz Arena may also be a fruitful option for the sought-after attacker, should he want to stay in Germany.
