The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has claimed that his client could return to Serie A in the future after suggesting he has what it takes to succeed at top Italian outfits.

The 27-year-old Italian midfielder signed for the Blues in the summer of 2018 after spending four highly successful seasons with Napoli in the Serie A.

During his four-year spell in Italy, Jorginho rose to prominence under the tutelage of Maurizio Sarri and moved to London alongside the manager in 2018.

Sarri left Stamford Bridge after just one season to return Italy and take over the reins at Juventus, but the midfielder has cemented his position as the first-choice midfielder for new manager Frank Lampard.

The playmaker scored during Italy’s 2-0 win over Greece in Rome on Saturday to confirm his national team’s Euro 2020 qualification with three games left to play.

When asked after Saturday’s game about the chances of seeing his client in Italian football again, Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos told Radio Sportiva that ‘everything is possible’ in football.

With the experience he has earned in the Premier League he could give a big contribution to Serie A.

“He could play in two or three Italian teams that are fighting for the league title.”

The Italian endured a difficult start to his life at Chelsea but his agent claims that the experience of playing in the Premier League has benefited Jorginho.

“It’s been a positive year for him,” he said. “He always scores from the penalty spot, I’m very happy for him as he works in a very serious way every day. Playing with Chelsea is very important, it’s a very intense style of football and he’s learned a lot under Sarri and Lampard.”

How is Jorginho performing under Lampard?

While his first season at the club didn’t go according to plan, Jorginho has hit the ground running after the arrival of Frank Lampard as the club’s new manager.

The Chelsea legend was appointed as the club’s new boss following the departure of Maurizio Sarri, who returned to Italy to manage Juventus in the summer.

Many people thought that with the arrival of Lampard at Stamford Bridge, there won’t be many playing opportunities for Jorginho, given the English manager’s previous track record of preferring youth over experience in his sides.

However, the Italian proved all such assertions wrong by becoming a key member of the Chelsea squad that currently sits just two points short of reigning champions Manchester City in fourth place at the Premier League table.

Jorginho has started all games for Chelsea so far in this Premier League campaign, scoring one goal in the process. He is expected to once again be in the Blues’ starting XI as they host Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon.
