Chelsea set sights on Malmo star, Barcelona identify Luis Suarez replacement and more news

The 21-year-old Bosnia and Herzegovina international started his career with Nottingham Forest before moving to Sweden last year.

Chelsea are keeping tabs on highly-rated Malmo centre-back Anel Ahmedhodzic and may make their move for the 21-year-old in the January transfer window.

The towering centre-back joined the Swedish outfit last year after making only one appearance for Championship side Nottingham Forest during his three-year long stay in England.

Frank Lampard’s side’s defensive record have improved following the arrivals of Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell over the summer, with new goalkeeper Eduoard Mendy also helping the Blues keep multiple successive clean sheets in the Premier League.

Nevertheless, the Stamford Bridge outfit is keen to add to its defensive options by investing in youth, with Swedish news outlet Expressen reporting that Chelsea are ready to lure Ahmedhodzic to the Premier League with the offer of a five-year contract.

The 33-year-old Atletico Madrid forward left Barcelona over the summer after becoming the third top scorer in the club’s illustrious history.

Barcelona have identified Benfica striker Darwin Nunez as replacement for Luis Suarez who left the Camp Nou outfit to join Atletico Madrid in the summer, per ESPN.

Suarez left Barcelona to sign a two-year contract with Atleti after being told by new manager Ronald Koeman that he was ‘surplus to requirements’ at the Camp Nou. The 33-year-old left Barca as the third top scorer in club’s history and after helping the side to four league titles.

Prior to his departure from the scene, the Catalan giants had held discussions with Nunez to convince him in favor of a move to the Camp Nou last summer. Barca even discussed the possibility of signing the player before sending him to Spanish second division outfit Almeria on loan.

However, their hopes of signing the Uruguay international faded when Benfica demanded a transfer fee of around €24m for the 21-year-old.

The Spanish playmaker has fallen down the pecking order at Santiago Bernabeu and is keen to reunite with his former boss Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park.

Everton are looking to reunite Real Madrid playmaker Isco with his former boss Carlo Ancelotti at the Merseyside, according to The Sun.

The Merseyside outfit, which currently sit 3rd in the table with just three points separating them from leaders Liverpool, have already benefited from the arrival of former Los Blancos star James Rodriguez at Goodison Park.

Rodriguez has proved to be a spectacular success at Everton since joining them for a reported £12m fee in the summer. The 29-year-old Colombia international scored 3 goals and managed 3 assists in his first 6 Premier League appearances before being ruled out due to a testicle injury.

And if reports from the English press are to be believed, the Toffees are going to use the connections they developed with Madrid while negotiating the signing of Rodriguez to bring Isco to the Premier League in the January transfer window.
