The Blues are free to sign players in the January transfer window after their three-window transfer ban was reduced by six months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Crystal Palace winger and reported Chelsea transfer target Wilfried Zaha is in talks with Bayern Munich after the Blues’ decided to not take up their pursuit of the Nigerian international.

Zaha has only recently sacked his former agent Will Salthouse in favor of Pini Zahavi, the super-agent who holds strong links with the Stamford Bridge’s higher-ups.

His decision to ditch his former representative in the middle of the season sparked rumors that Zaha was going to force his Palace exit in favor of a move to Chelsea in the January transfer window.

But Sky Sports report that the player’s new agent is reportedly in talks with Bayern to get his client a dream move to the Bundesliga giants.

Sky Sports report that the Israeli super-agent, who has connections with top European clubs, has held preliminary talks with Bayern regarding a potential future move of his client.

The report further claims that while the 27-year-old will seek to say goodbye to Selhurst Park at the earliest possible opportunity, it seems highly unlikely that he will leave Roy Hodgson’s side this month, with a summer move looking like a more real possibility.

Zaha, it is claimed, is aware that not many clubs in world football can afford to pay the transfer fee which Palace would demand in exchange for his services. The Eagles rejected a £70m Everton bid for his services from Everton last summer, with chairman Steve Parish insisting that the player is worth at least £80m.

The player was also reportedly unhappy over the Eagles rejecting a £40m bid from Arsenal in the previous transfer window. Serie A strugglers Napoli were one of the other sides who indicated their interest in his services but didn’t put any offer on the table.

Despite the reports claiming that Zaha might be headed to Germany, one couldn’t deny that his agent holds strong connections with Chelsea’s billionaire owner Roman Abramovich.

The Russian oligarch who bought the club way back in 2004 is known to be a good friend of Zaha’s agent Zahavi, who the player appointed as his agent only recently to rekindle rumors about a potential move to Chelsea in the near future.

However, while the player’s representative is no doubt friends with the Chelsea owner, the Blues manager Frank Lampard has put paid to any chances of the move happening by claiming that he had ‘’not even considered’’ signing the Palace winger.

That stance could change though if Chelsea are unable to turn around their recent bad form and their targets, including Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, opt against a move to Stamford Bridge.
