Flawless Liverpool hit seven against Crystal Palace

Defending Champions Liverpool hammer Crystal Palace 7-0 and move five points clear at the top of Premier League.

After a tiring midweek match against Spurs, Jurgen Klopp benched talismanic man Mohamed Salah as Takumi Minamino, who scored Liverpool’s opener inside 3rd minute at Selhurst Park, replaced the Egyptian winger.

After going behind early, Roy Hodgson’s men created a couple of clear-cut chances but lack of clinical finishing kept the scoreline to 1-0. And after the half-hour mark, Sadio Mane doubled visitors’ lead before Firmino’s glancing header from Robertson’s cross gave Liverpool a three-goal cushion at half time.

The home side looked tired and lack of ideas after the restart and in the 52nd-minute captain Jordan Henderson put the game beyond any doubt as he added Liverpool’s fourth.

Mohamed Salah’s introduction at the hour-mark proved to be a nightmare for Palace as the Egyptian forward set up Firmino for his second of the night and then scored twice in the space of 3 minutes to give Liverpool their biggest away win in the Premier League.
