Frankfurt make Jovic decision, defender wants Tottenham move, and Man Utd linked with Barca outcast

Reports over the past few days had claimed that the Serbia international wanted to end his nightmare at Real Madrid by securing a return move to the Bundesliga outfit.

Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic won’t be re-joining Frankfurt this summer after his former side decided against signing the Serbian striker, according to AS.

Jovic, 22, spent two seasons on loan at the Bundesliga outfit before securing a €60m move to Zinedine Zidane’s side last year. His final season at Deutsche Bank Park was highly prolific for Jovic as the striker managed 17 goals in only 32 appearances in the German top-flight.

But the Serbia international has been unable to be at his scintillating best since his move to Santiago Bernabeu last summer, with the 22-year-old managing only two goals in 27 appearances in his maiden season in Spain.

His disappointing performances for Madrid has convinced Zidane to loan out Jovic for the entirety of the 2020/21 campaign, with Los Blancos reportedly eyeing former PSG striker Edinson Cavani to serve as a back-up for Karim Benzema in the upcoming season.

Inter Milan are reportedly eyeing a swoop for Manchester United centre-half Chris Smalling if Skriniar ends up joining Jose Mourinho’s side this summer.

Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar wants to leave the San Siro outfit and join Tottenham Hotspur before next month’s transfer deadline day, reports Sun Sport [via Evening Standard].

Antonio Conte’s side are willing to cash-in on the defender but only if Spurs agree to meet their €60m valuation of the 25-year-old but Sky Sports claim that Jose Mourinho’s side value the 6’2’’ Slovak at half that price.

Spurs would reportedly prefer to strike an initial season-long deal for the centre-back, having committed around £11m in wages to re-sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid in addition to around £25m in securing the services of left-back Sergio Reguilon.

However, Inter are currently standing firm on their valuation of Skriniar and as it stands Spurs would have to sell fringe players to fund a move for the centre-back.

After a disappointing 2019/20 campaign with the Catalan giants, the World Cup winning defender looks set to be on his way out of the Camp Nou.

Spanish news outlet Sport have nominated Manchester United and Arsenal as two of the five possible destinations for Barcelona outcast Samuel Umtiti.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are reportedly in the market for a new centre-back that could strengthen their back four and serve as a reliable partner for Harry Maguire, as both Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly have been unable to win the trust of their manager.

Arsenal’s need for a new centre-back looks less acute as the Gunners have already added two new faces to their defensive department. Gabriel Magalhaes has joined the Gunners in a £22m deal from Lille whereas William Saliba has also moved to North London after completing his season-long loan at St. Etienne.

Aside from the two Premier League sides, Olympique Lyon, Inter Milan and Stade Rennais have also been touted as potential destinations for Umtiti.
