- ESPN Insider Notebook has revealed how much is Erling Haaland worth in today’s transfer market
- The 20-year-old Borussia Dortmund striker has scored more Champions League goals than any other player this season
- Haaland is also sitting at 2nd spot in Bundesliga goalscoring charts and is attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs
The 20-year-old Norway international has gone on a record-breaking spree since signing for the Westfalenstadion residents from Austrian side RB Salzburg last summer.
Haaland scored the fastest hattrick in Bundesliga history on his debut last January, has reached double figures in Champions League faster than any player and has scored more goals in Europe’s elite competition than any other player since making his debut in 2019.
Little wonder, then, that Dortmund are ready to use the same hardline tactic with which they prevented Jadon Sancho from joining Manchester United last summer to thwart some of Europe’s heavyweights from luring away the Norwegian.
How much is Erling Haaland really worth?
Transfermarkt.com estimates that the player, whom it ranks at the number three spots among all footballers worldwide, has a market value of €110m, €70m less than what Dortmund hope to pocket from any club wishing for the player’s signature.
The respected website claims that Haaland’s market value has risen by an eye-watering 65m since he left Salzburg for Dortmund. It also notes that Haaland’s value has increased by €30m from the start of the 2020/21 campaign to March 2021.
All these estimates about how much is Haaland really worth might not attract favorable eyeballs from those sitting in Dortmund’s director box, though, as the club has a reputation of making the most of any prized assets it has at its disposal.
Consequently, while reports have claimed that Haaland has a release clause of €75million in his Dortmund contract, the Bundesliga outfit might not be in the mood to entertain offers for the Norway international unless the clubs willing to sign Haaland offer double that amount.
