Juventus looking to re-sign striker, Chelsea defender considering his future and Real Madrid considering signing Cavani

After being frustrated in their attempts to sign former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, the Old Lady have reportedly turned their attentions to the Atletico Madrid striker.

Juventus are hoping to sign Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata as they attempt to bring-in a replacement of Gonzalo Higuain, reports Sky Sports.

Andrea Pirlo’s side had initially hoped to sign Edin Dzeko from Roma, but the forward remains unavailable as Roma remain unsuccessful in their move for Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik.

The Old Lady will have to pay around £9.2m to sign Morata on a year-long loan, with Atletico Madrid keen on getting £41.2m if the Spaniard is to leave Wanda Metropolitana on a permanent transfer.

Morata’s potential departure from Atleti depends on the future of Barcelona striker Luis Suarez. The Uruguay international is reportedly eyed by Diego Simeone and is on the verge of leaving the Camp Nou outfit after being told by manager Ronald Koeman that he is surplus to requirements.

The Chelsea and Germany defender wasn’t named in the Blues’ matchday squad for their Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Premier League champions Liverpool.

Antonio Rudiger is reportedly considering his Chelsea future after falling down the pecking order at the club following the arrival of Thiago Silva from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 27-year-old wants to play on a permanent basis to cement his place in Germany’s squad for next year’s European championships.

His fate at the Stamford Bridge outfit was thrown into doubt after the centre-back wasn’t named in the Blues’ matchday squad for Sunday’s trip of Liverpool.

Frank Lampard defended his decision to omit Rudiger, citing that he can’t name three centre-backs on the bench, but Sky Sports report that the 6’3’’ defender didn’t took his omission too kindly and is considering his future at the club whom he is under-contract with until 2022.

Top News 3: Real Madrid considering signing Cavani

After running down his contract with French champions PSG earlier this summer, the 33-year-old Uruguay international is available on a free transfer.

Real Madrid are battling with Juventus in the race to sign free-agent Edinson Cavani, with the former PSG striker reportedly keen on a return to Italy.

Cavani spent six seasons in Serie A before joining PSG for a reported €64m transfer in 2013. The striker’s stay in Paris was highly successful as he became the French side’s all-time leading goalscorer, while also winning various trophies in the process.

However, the forward is now a free-agent after refusing PSG’s offer of extending his stay at the Parc des Princes beyond June. ESPN reports that his representatives have offered him to a number of clubs across Europe and that the 33-year-old has already held talks with Andrea Pirlo’s side.

The Old Lady, who have ruled out a move for Barcelona striker Luis Suarez, are also being linked with Atletico Madrid forward Alvaro Morata. Madrid, meanwhile, have changed their early-season stance of not carrying any signing due to the financial implications of the COVID-19 pandemic.
