Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted that he spoke to Mane after the Liverpool winger was caught on camera reacting furiously after his substitution.

The 6-time European Champions made easy work of their hosts Burnley on Saturday as an own goal from Chris Wood followed by  two strikes from Firmino and Mane helped the Reds cruise to a 3-0 victory at the Turf Moor stadium.

The Senegalese was in fine form as he coolly dispatched a Roberto Firmino pass to make the score-line 2-0 at the 37th minute mark, before the Brazilian himself killed the game off with his 2nd half strike.

While he showed no signs of discontent on the pitch, Mane reacted furiously as he was being substituted off for striker Divock Origi in the final stages of the game, throwing his hands in frustration.

Speaking after the game, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted that Mane wasn’t happy that Salah didn’t pass him the ball and chose to take a lack-luster shot on goal himself even when the Senegalese was free inside the Burnley penalty area.

‘Sadio is an emotional guy. It’s good, we are all individuals and we are all like this. Something didn’t go exactly as he wanted obviously, it was not the substitution!’

Afterward, when the interviewer suggested to Klopp the reason behind Mane’s foul outburst on the sideline, Klopp replied: ‘Yeah but we clarified that as we always do in the dressing room, of course, so that’s all that we want to say about that.’

“We spoke about it after and I respect that a lot as long as the boys invest so much. We are not always choir boys, they really are men!” said the German manager

While Mane’s post-substitution outburst meant that everybody was talking about Salah’s selfishness after the game, former Liverpool defender and Sky Sport pundit Jamie Carragher came to the defense of the Egyptian.

Despite admitting that Salah can be selfish at times, the former English international pointed that the Egyptian has provided more assists to his teammates this season than either of his attacking partners.

To explain his reasoning behind the statement, Carragher stated that with his assist to Firmino at the Turf Moor on Saturday, Salah has been now involved in 100 goals, in terms of assists and goals scored, since making his Liverpool debut in 2017.

Having said that, he admitted that there are at times when Salah needs to show a little more composure by passing the ball to a teammate who is in a better scoring position than the Egyptian.

Meanwhile, Saturday’s victory means that Liverpool have now won 13 Premier League games in a row, a record which has no parallel in the club’s illustrious history.
