Koeman tells four players they aren’t needed at Barca, Man United interested in Arsenal striker and more news

The newly appointed Barcelona manager personally telephoned the quartet to inform them that their services are no longer required by the Camp Nou outfit.

Ronald Koeman has told Luis Suarez, Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal, and Samuel Umtiti to find a new team before the start of next season, as per Spanish journalist Alfredo Martinez.

The quartet has come under criticism of Barcelona fans due to their underwhelming performances in the 2019/20 campaign. Suarez has specifically been on the receiving end of the fans’ disparaging comments as his increasing age and slowing speed seemed to have a negative impact on his game.

Ivan Rakitic was always expected to move to Sevilla after the 2019/20 season, with the departure of Ever Banega potentially paving the way for the Croatian’s move to Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium six years after he left Los Palanganas to move to the Camp Nou.

It remains to be seen where the duo of Arturo Vidal and Samuel Umtiti might end up following their potential departures from the Nou Camp. The Chile international Vidal is linked with a move to Inter Milan, while Umiti has attracted interest from the likes of Man United, Arsenal and Chelsea all summer.

Manchester United and Leeds United are both interested in completing the signing of young Arsenal striker Sam Greenwood, with the Premier League clubs facing competition from Serie A giants Inter Milan and AC Milan for the 18-year-old’s signature.

Top News 3: Chelsea close to completing triple deal

After three transfer windows during which the club was banned from carrying out signings, the Blues are making big waves in the 2020 summer transfer window.

Chelsea are ready to complete the signings of Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva before the start of the 2020/21 season next month, according to Sky Sports.

Havertz, 21, was the subject of transfer interest from Europe’s elite but now looks set to complete a move to Stamford Bridge, with the Blues ready to strike a deal for the midfielder with Bayer Leverkusen that could rise up to £90m including add-ons.

Frank Lampard’s side are also keen to add Ben Chilwell to their ranks and may end up doing so before the conclusion of the ongoing week. The Leicester City full-back is valued at £50m by the Foxes who have reportedly identified Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico as his replacement at the club.

Thiago Silva, meanwhile, is set to sign for the Blues in a one-year deal after playing his last game for PSG on Sunday night. The 35-year-old Brazilian will join Chelsea as a free-agent and is expected to be a part of their starting XI next season.
