Lampard hints trio could leave Chelsea, Klopp gives update on Shaqiri’s Liverpool future and more news

The Stamford Bridge outfit is trying to raise some cash after spending more than €200m on signing the likes of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell this summer.

Frank Lampard has hinted Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Fikayo Tomori could leave Chelsea on loan before the window closes next Monday.

Hudson-Odoi has once again been on the transfer radar of Bayern Munich after the Bundesliga champions saw at least two bids for the 19-year-old rejected by Chelsea over the last 18 months. Hansi Flick’s side are keen to secure the loan signing of the teenager before October 5.

Loftus-Cheek, meanwhile, has played only 61 minutes  for the Blues in the Premier League this season, with the arrival of Thiago Silva from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer restricting game time for Tomori who has attracted interest from Everton and Newcastle United over the past few weeks.

The Blues are keen to offload fringe players in a bid to lower their wage bill after it shot up following a spate of high-profile arrivals during the ongoing summer transfer window.

The Switzerland international wasn’t part of the Liverpool matchday squad for their Carabao Cup loss to Arsenal on Thursday night.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insinuated Xherdan Shaqiri might leave the club in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The Switzerland international wasn’t a part of the Reds’ matchday squad for their Carabao Cup penalty-shootout loss to Arsenal on Thursday night. His absence from the side was puzzling given that the 28-year-old was neither suspended for the game nor was he injured in the build-up to it.

Klopp explained the winger’s absence by stating that it was due to two clubs reportedly chasing the player’s signature. The Liverpool boss also confirmed that he had ‘some information’ on the player’s future and that he didn’t want to ‘react on that’.

Shaqiri has been unable to nail down his place in the Reds’ starting lineup since joining the Merseyside outfit in £13.5m deal from Stoke City in July 2018.

After seeing their €100m bid for Jadon Sancho rejected by Borussia Dortmund, the Red Devils have made enquires for a number of forwards across Europe.

Manchester United are considering a late-swoop for highly-rated Sevilla winger Lucas Ocampos before Monday’s transfer deadline day, per ESPN.

The report claims that the Red Devils are eyeing the 26-year-old as alternative to Jadon Sancho whom Borussia Dortmund have refused to sell to United until they meet their €120m valuation of the England international.

United were previously confident of convincing the Bundesliga outfit in lowering their asking price of Sancho and even launched a €100m bid for the 20-year-old. Dortmund, however, refused to budge on their stance and it now seems that the winger will be spending one more season at Signal Iduna Park.

Ocampos joined Sevilla from Ligue 1 outfit Marseille in July 2019 and was an integral part of Julian Lopetegui’s side that won the Europa League at the end of last season.
