Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Arsenal boss Unai Emery are both expected to field youngsters when both the sides meet in their 4th round Carabao Cup clash on Wednesday.

Liverpool will host fellow Premier League side Arsenal in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

Both the sides are coming into this game on the back of different results over the weekend. Liverpool came back from a 1-goal deficit to defeat Tottenham 2-1 in a high octane clash on Sunday night.

Arsenal, meanwhile, were left to rue VAR and some shambolic defending as they let slip a 2-goal lead to draw their game with Crystal Palace on the same day.

However, while the Gunners are coming into this fixture with the hope of assuaging their restive fan base by recording an unlikely victory at Anfield, they too, like Liverpool, are expected to give their fringe players a chance to prove themselves in this clash.

The Gunners’ fans would be expecting to see the best of Emile Smith Rowe on Wednesday as the 18-year-old tries to put his injury-hit career back on track.

He has played over 150 minutes in two Europa League appearances for the club this season, though he’s yet to find the back of the net for Unai Emery’s side.

The 19-year-old would be hoping to once again give his best on Wednesday and convince his manager to give him playing minutes in the Premier League.

Gabrielle Martinelli is another youngster who would be looking to fortify his reputation by putting in his best performance on Wednesday.

The Brazilian attacking midfielder has already featured in three Premier League games for Arsenal this season, with 3 goals and an assist in his 2 Europa League appearances for the club.

Starlets who could perform for Liverpool

EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND - JULY 28: Jurgen Klopp, Manager of Liverpool shows concern over Minamino selection.

Two Liverpool starlets, in particular, would be hoping that their performances on Wednesday would be enough to give Klopp a selection headache ahead of a busy festive period.

Harvey Elliot, who hugely impressed in Liverpool’s victory over Fulham in the previous round of the Carabao Cup, will be looking to make his case on the big stage on Wednesday.

The 16-year-old was banned for 14-days by the Football Association for mocking Tottenham striker Harry Kane and is now eligible for selection after serving the ban.

Curtis Jones is another teenager who would be hoping to prove his reputation as one of the highly-rated players in the club’s youth ranks with his performance later today.

He was an unused substitute in the previous round of Carabao Cup but is expected to feature on Wednesday after putting in a string of impressive performances in the Premier League 2.
