After suffering the injury during the Reds’ pre-season training camp in Austria, the 27-year-old England international has returned to the club’s Melwood training ground.
Liverpool have confirmed midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered a knee injury during the club’s pre-season training camp in Austria.
The 27-year-old picked up the knock during a challenge in training and will resultantly miss the friendlies scheduled against Stuttgart and Red Bull Salzburg in the central European country.
Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp has also confirmed that the England international won’t be able to face his former employers Arsenal in the Community Shield final later this month.
Chamberlain missed only five games with multiple injuries last season but now faces a race against time to be fit for the Premier League opener against Leeds United on September 12.
