Man City closing in on Leroy Sane replacement, Chelsea start talks with Bayer Leverkusen for forward and more

The 24-year-old Germany international Sane left Pep Guardiola’s side to join Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in a €45m deal earlier this month.

Manchester City are moving closer to securing the signing of 20-year-old Spanish winger Ferran Torres from Valencia, according to Goal.

The recently dethroned Premier League champions are in the transfer market to bring in a replacement of Leroy Sane who left the club to join Bayern Munich earlier this month.

His potential replacement Torres is valued at between $35m and $47m by Valencia and has reportedly agreed terms on a five-year deal with the Etihad Stadium outfit.

Valencia are in the need to raise cash as their failure to qualify for Europe has left the side in deep financial distress. Torres’ refusal to extend his stay at the Mestalla beyond next summer has also convinced the La Liga side to cash-in on him in the 2020 summer transfer window.

Ligalive had reported earlier this month that the 21-year-old Germany international has indicated his desire to play for the Blues next season.

Chelsea have entered into talks with Bayer Leverkusen to secure the signing of Kai Havertz before the start of next season, as per Fabrizio Romano.

The Italy-based journalist further added that the Stamford Bridge outfit want to complete the deal soon and are willing to pay €80m including add-ons for the forward.

Romano has also claimed that Havertz has already agreed terms with the Blues who look set to complete their third major signing of the recently opened transfer window. The North-London based side has already brought in Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

The 21-year-old forward, who scored 17 times in Bundesliga last term, has also attracted interest from the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in recent months but it is Frank Lampard’s side who are leading the race for his signature.

Top News 3: Jan Vertonghen leaves Tottenham after eight seasons in the Premier League

After spending eight seasons with the North London outfit, the Belgium international has bid farewell to his Spurs teammates after his contract expired with the club.

Jan Vertonghen has announced he’s leaving Tottenham Hotspur after eight successful seasons at the club, with multiple reports claiming that the Belgian is set to move to Italy next.

The 33-year-old defender received a two-month extension at the start of the June to finish the current season with Spurs but wasn’t offered a long-term contract and will therefore leave the club after making over 300 appearances.

Ligalive had reported in February that Serie A giants Inter Milan are the favorites to sign him on a free-transfer. Vertonghen’s Belgium national teammate Romelu Lukaku wants the center-back to play alongside him at the San Siro next season.

The Nerazzuri aren’t the only Italian side after the defender though as AS Roma are also reportedly interested in the player’s services, with Napoli and Fiorentina completing the quartet of Italian clubs who are linked with the 33-year-old.
