Man City defender wants to visit India, Nike unveils ‘Flight’ ball for next Premier League season and more

The 25-year-old French World Cup winner has been an integral part of the Man City squad that has failed to retain the Premier League title this season.

While giving an interview to English Premier League broadcaster Star Sports, Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy has indicated his desire to visit India.

The left-back claimed during the interaction that he hopes to visit the South Asian country one day and is awaiting invitation from the Premier League’s fans in the country.

Mendy also enquired about the situation that India faced in the wake of COVID-19 lockdown, before adding that he hopes that the return of football has bring joy to its Indian fans.

The 25-year-old has made 23 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side in all competitions so far this season and has managed to provide 3 assists to his teammates in the process.

Featuring the American sportswear company’s new AerowSculpt technology, the ball will reportedly deliver 30% truer flight than the one it is going to replace.

American sportswear company Nike has unveiled their new football that will be used in the Premier League in the 2020/21 season.

The ‘Flight’ ball features contours and ridges that look similar to a golf ball as part of a radical new design that is aimed to stop the unpredictable mid-air movement of the ball. This is potentially bad news for free-kick takers who used its predecessor’s airborne wobble to confuse goalkeepers.

Nike is adamant that the new ball isn’t designed to stop the dead-ball specialists from finding the back of the net. It could precisely do the opposite for those free-kick takers who prefer accuracy and precision over power when hitting the ball.

Compared to its predecessor ‘Merlin’ that is currently being used in the Premier League, the Flight has 30 percent more accuracy because of its new AerowSculpt technology. Nike claims that this technology will reduce the chances of long balls, set pieces and shots from a distance going astray.

After the departure of Hakim Ziyech for Chelsea, Ajax manager Erik ten Hag has stated that three more first-team stars could join the Moroccan out the door.

Ajax manager Erik ten Hag has told Dutch outlet Het Parool star trio Donny van de Beek, Andre Onana and Nicolas Tagliafico could all leave the Dutch giants this summer.

Both Onana and Tagliafico have been linked with Chelsea over the past few months as Frank Lampard’s side are reportedly in the market for a new left back and goalkeeper.

Van de Beek, meanwhile, is a reported transfer target of Real Madrid and Manchester United as both the European giants aim to strengthen their midfield ahead of next season.

His statement has come after Hakim Ziyech, who scored 49 times during his four-season long stay in Amsterdam, signed for Chelsea in January.
