Man United ready to sell duo, Schalke eye move for Arsenal star and Barcelona reject bid for defender

The news has come amid multiple reports claiming that the Red Devils are closing in on the signing of Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek for €45m.

Manchester United are ready to sell Jesse Lingard and Andreas Pereira as the Old Trafford outfit attempts to make way for Donny van de Beek, reports Daily Mail.

The 23-year-old Ajax midfielder is reportedly on the verge of joining the Red Devils from the Dutch champions in a deal worth €45m. His move to Old Trafford would surely mean the end of the road for Pereira who has struggled for consistency during his time as Man United player.

Lingard, meanwhile, was in the worst form of his life last season as the Man United academy graduate managed only a single goal throughout the 19/20 Premier League campaign. The 27-year-old took to the social media following the end of the season to admit to his followers that he was ‘lost’.

The England international’s departure from the club would mark the end of his 2-decade long partnership with the Red Devils that began when he joined the club aged seven, but Lingard has struggled to keep his place in the side and hasn’t started a game for them in the Premier League since New Year’s Day.

The Argentine shot-stopper has impressed for the Gunners after he was thrown into goal following the injury suffered by first-choice Bernd Leno late last season.

Schalke are eyeing a move for Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez in the ongoing summer transfer window, according to a report by Sky Sports.

The 27-year-old Argentina international has been at Arsenal since 2012 but has spent a lion’s share of the last eight years playing on loan for various sides. His most recent loan spell saw the goalkeeper move to Championship side Reading whom he played for six months.

His Arsenal career got a breakthrough after the Gunners’ first-choice goalkeeper Bernd Leno suffered an injury during their defeat at Brighton in June this year. Martinez was sent on from the bench and delivered a string of excellent performances in the upcoming games to cement his place in the side.

But with his Gunners contract set to expire in two years’ time, Arsenal are expected to cash-in on Martinez this summer to raise funds for new signings.

Top News 3: Barcelona reject Everton bid for right-back Emerson

The 21-year-old right back is currently on loan at Real Betis and made 34 appearances in all competitions for Los Verdiblancos last season.

Barcelona have rejected a bid from Everton for right-back Emerson currently on loan at Real Betis, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Emerson joined Betis on a two-season loan last summer and has impressed with his performances during his first year at Benito Villamarin. The 21-year-old managed 3 goals and 6 assists in 34 for Manuel Pellegrini’s side last term.

His impressive performances over at Betis convinced Everton who wanted to make the Spaniard their second signing of the summer – as the Merseyside outfit have already secured the services of left-back Niels Nkounku on a free-transfer from Marseille.

Carlo Ancelotti is looking to build on from an impressive half-season at Everton during which the Toffees turned their poor early season form around to finish in the top-half of the table. The Italian manager is aiming to add faces to his squad that could catapult Everton to European places next season.
