Man United ready to sell expensive flop, Chelsea re-open forward’s contract talks and Jadon Sancho latest

The Chilean forward joined Manchester United in a highly anticipated move in 2018 but has failed to live up to the expectations during his time at Old Trafford.

Manchester United are ready to wash their hands off of Alexis Sanchez when the summer transfer window reopens later this month, reports Goal.

The Chilean international joined United from Arsenal in a player-swap deal that involved Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving the other way around. Both failed to live up to their new clubs’ expectations after which the Gunners shipped Mkhitaryan to Roma and Sanchez joined Inter Milan on loan.

It is being claimed that the Man United loanee has impressed during his time in Italy and Antonio Conte is willing to extend his stay at the club by at least one more year. The Nerazzurri are also willing to sign Sanchez on a permanent basis provided United agree to their cut-price offer of €20m for the forward.

The report further adds that the San Siro outfit had reached a gentleman’s agreement with the Red Devils last season that allowed them to sign the Chilean for €25m, though their CEO Giuseppe Marotta now wants United to reduce that figure by €8m.

After the Brazil international impressed over the past month, the Stamford Bridge outfit decided to offer re-enter contract talks with him.

Chelsea have reopened contract talks with Willian as Frank Lampard’s side tries to secure his services for the foreseeable future.

Goal reports that Willian has been in negotiations with the Stamford Bridge outfit over a new deal after he rejected a contract offer from an unnamed Chinese Super League club.

The stumbling block in the negotiations between the two parties revolves around the length of the contract that Chelsea are offering to the Brazilian, as Willian is unwilling to accept the two-year contract that the Blues have offered him thus far.

Chelsea are aware that the 31-year-old is attracting interest from Tottenham and Arsenal and are keen to keep the winger from strengthening their rivals.

After spending a highly productive three years at Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund, the England winger is keen to return to the Premier League.

Jadon Sancho has agreed a five-year contract with Manchester United worth a base-pay of 140,000-per-week, according to the Transfer Window Podcast.

The news has come less than a day after Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola ruled out the possibility of his side signing the England international. The 20-year-old came through the youth ranks of City before joining Dortmund in 2017 after being unable to make his mark for the Etihad outfit.

His decision to join the Signal Iduna Park residents paid dividends for Sancho, with the winger scoring 30 goals in only 78 league appearances for the Bundesliga outfit. The impressive form which he displayed in Germany also ignited rumors of the England international returning to the Premier League.
