The reported agreement will see the 34-year-old ending his nine-year association with the club, with the Nerazzurri willing to sign him on a 1-year deal in the summer.

Manchester United winger-turned-full-back Ashley Young is set to sign a pre-contract agreement with Inter Milan that will see him join the Serie A giants next summer.

The 34-year-old signed has made over 260 appearances for the Red devils since joining them from fellow Premier League outfit Aston Villa in a £15m deal in 2011.

His almost-decade long association with United has been highly fruitful for the former England international, with United winning one Premier League title during his time at the club.

However, with United reluctant to offer him a new contract that could see the 34-year-old extending his stay at the club, the veteran midfielder appears to be on the verge of agreeing a 12-month deal with the Inter Milan in the coming days.

Multiple reports claim that the Englishman is ready to put pen on paper and sign a deal that would see him move to Serie A at the end of the 2019/20 season.

Daily Mail reports that Antonio Conte wants to sign the United captain this month to reinforce his team’s push for their first Scudetto title in more than a decade.

However, with United short of options at the back, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains adamant that the player will remain at the club till the end of this season.

Provided United remain true to their word and prevent the player from leaving in January, the Nerazzurri will reportedly sign Young on a 12-month deal beginning in the summer.

Conversely, if the Red devils feel they have enough cover at the back and give Young the option to say goodbye in this month, the player will be rewarded with an 18-month deal by Inter.

The former England international has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford, with Luke Shaw and Brandan Williams preferred on the left side of United’s defense.

The brilliant form shown by Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the right side of United’s back four since his arrival from Crystal Palace in the summer has further limited game time for the 34-year-old.

Provided the player does end up signing for Inter, the chances of which look pretty bright, he would be following the lead of multiple former United players who have left the club to play under Conte in the recent past.

Romelu Lukaku left the Old Trafford to join the Serie A giants in a deal worth £75m in the summer, with Alexis Sanchez also plying his trade for the Nerazzurri, though the Chilean is on a season-long loan at the San Siro.

United might be hoping that the friendly relationship they have developed with Inter Milan over the past few years would help them strike an agreement for Lautaro Martinez, the 22-year-old striker whom the Red devils want to bring at the club.
