Man Utd in talks with striker, Juventus rival Arsenal for Lyon ace and Dortmund reject Sancho bid

The Red Devils are desperate for reinforcements to their attacking department ahead of the closure of summer transfer window next month.

Manchester United are in talks with former Paris Saint-Germain striker and free-agent Edinson Cavani, reports the Daily Mail.

Cavani, 33, has been available on a free transfer since leaving the Les Parisiens earlier this summer. The Uruguay international left Thomas Tuchel’s side after becoming the top goal-scorer in the club’s history and helping the French giants win six Ligue 1 titles during his seven years in Paris.

Ligalive had reported last week that the 6’0’’ striker was also in talks with Real Madrid through the brother of Sergio Ramos. The forward was previously linked with Atletico Madrid as well before Diego Simeone’s side secured the signing of Luis Suarez from Barcelona.

His potential move to Old Trafford would only be a stop-gap measure by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to add depth to his squad, with Cavani expected to be on the bench behind United’s front three of Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

The Gunners have expedited their pursuit of the France international and are set to submit a new € 38m bid for the 22-year-old in the coming days.

Juventus might rival Arsenal for Houssem Aouar after making a formal approach for the Lyon ace on Monday, reports journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi .

The French journalist further claims that a phone call between Gunners’ boss Mikel Arteta and Aouar has taken place over the past few days, with the North London outfit expected to launch a € 38m bid for the 22-year-old France international.

Get French Football News quotes Bouhafsi telling RMC that there remains a €12m difference in Arsenal’s upcoming bid for Aouar and Lyon’s valuation of their ace, with the journalist adding that Lyon have ‘no intention’ of lowering their asking price of the midfielder.

Apart from trying to secure the signing of Aouar, the Gunners are still in talks with Atletico Madrid to secure the signing of Thomas Partey. But in that case too they are unwilling to meet Diego Simeone’s side’s €50m valuation of their defensive midfielder.

Top News 3: Borussia Dortmund reject Man United’s latest bid for Jadon Sancho

Two clubs lead race to sign Sancho next summer,

With less than a week remaining in the ending of the summer transfer window, it seems that Sancho would be staying put at the Signal Iduna Park for at least one more

Borussia Dortmund have rejected Manchester United’s latest 100m bid for Jadon Sancho, reports Sky Sports.

The Red Devils have refused to give up on trying to sign the 20-year-old England international despite missing the August 10 deadline Dortmund set for any potential deal for their winger to be completed.

United’s latest bid for Sancho was of an initial €80m with €20m in add-ons after Sancho didn’t fly with the rest of Dortmund’s squad for the German Super Cup against Bayern in Munich.

Dortmund’s rejection of the Red Devils’ offer for Sancho backs up the claims the club have previously made about not letting the Englishman return to Manchester until the Old Trafford outfit meet Dortmund’s € 120m valuation of him.
