All the latest news from Old Trafford
The 27-year-old England international, who is yet to feature for the Red Devils in the Premier League this season, is eager to secure a January loan move away from Old Trafford.
Out of favor Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard is in talks with Real Sociedad over a loan move to the Spanish outfit in January, per Sky Sports.
The 27-year-old England international has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford and is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League this season. He has also been an unused substitute in the Champions League one, and has only started one game for the Red Devils in all competitions.
The lack of game time, brought about by the squad depth Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has mustered up at United through shrewd recruitment in recent transfer windows, has frustrated Lingard and may end up pushing him out of the club in a month’s time.
He held talks with several English and European clubs in the summer but a move failed to materialize. However, with half of the season behind him and Sociedad currently 2nd in La Liga, a loan move to Spain might prove to be tempting for the 27-year-old.
Manchester United believe they will be able to sign Lucas Vazquez for a €15m transfer fee in the January transfer window, reports Defensa Central.
The 29-year-old Spain international came through the youth ranks of Real Madrid before signing his first senior contract with Los Blancos in 2015. He has made 145 appearances for the club in La Liga, scoring 13 goals in the process.
However, despite his long-service and the versatility that he offers to Zinedine Zidane – Vazquez can play as a right-back, right winger and right-striker, La Liga champions have decided against extending the Spaniard’s stay at the club beyond next summer.
United believe they could exploit the player’s contractual situation to their benefit by landing him on a cheap in January. His potential arrival at Old Trafford would give United cover for Aaron Wan-Bissaka who remains the only designated right-back at the club after the departure of Diogo Dalot in the summer.
Although Vazquez is also on the transfer radar of United, former Tottenham Hotspur full-back Kieran Trippier remains the first choice.
Manchester United will consider making an approach for Kieran Trippier when they look to bring in cover for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, per The Telegraph.
Wan-Bissaka, 23, has been an integral part of the Red Devils’ squad since his 45m move from Crystal Palace last summer. His importance at the club could be gauged by the fact that the England international has started all but two of the Red Devils’ games this season.
However, after Diogo Dalot left the club for AC Milan in the summer, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rightly believes that he needs cover for his first-choice right-back. This realization has convinced the Old Trafford outfit to train their sights on the 30-year-old Trippier.
Landing the Atletico Madrid right-back won’t be easy, though, as Diego Simeone’s side reportedly claim that Trippier is “untouchable”. He has made the joint-most appearances for Atleti this season and it would take an astronomical offer to convince La Liga leaders to let go of the Englishman.
