Man Utd set to miss out on Sergio Reguilon, Lukaku eyes Premier League move and more transfer news

After impressing during his year-long loan spell at Sevilla, the 23-year-old Spaniard made his debut for the national team over the weekend.

Manchester United’s pursuit of Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon has hit a road block with Zinedine Zidane’s side insistent on inserting a £27m buy-back clause in his contract, reports El Partidazo de COPE.

The 23-year-old full-back was a part of the Sevilla side that defeated United in the Europa League semi-finals last season and went on to clinch the title. His impressive performances for Julian Lopetegui’s side earned Reguilon a berth in the Spanish national side.

But despite his excellent form over the last 12 months, the left-back isn’t in Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane’s plans as the French manager prefers Ferland Mendy and Marcelo ahead of the 23-year-old who has made only 22 senior appearances for Madrid.

His uncertain situation at Santiago Bernabeu convinced Man United to make their move for Reguilon and meet Madrid’s £27m valuation of the left back. However, with the Red Devils’ opposed to Madrid’s demands of including a buy-back clause, the deal has hit a major stumbling block.

After seeing his move to Newcastle fall through in January, the Lazio left-back is keen to make a switch to the English top-flight in the ongoing transfer window.

Jordan Lukaku, younger brother of Inter Milan forward Romelu, is eyeing a move to the English Premier League and his parent club Lazio are willing to sell the left-back for around £5million.

The 26-year-old was on the brink of moving to Newcastle United in January before the move fell through. Lukaku later on suffered a knee injury that put his Lazio career on hold.

But after using the lockdown period to regain his fitness, Lukaku started 11 of Simone Inzaghi’s side’s last 12 games in the 2019/20 Serie A campaign. Daily Mail are now reporting that several Premier League clubs have looked at the Belgium international in their search for a left-back.

Lukaku is an attacking full back whose sheer pace makes him a handful to deal with for his opponents. He reportedly believes that a move to England would shore up his chances for making Belgium’s squad for next summer’s European Championships.

The 27-year-old Brazilian left-back has 192 appearances for Porto during his four year stay at the Estadio do Dragao, scoring 24 goals in the process.

Manchester United have expedited their pursuit of Alex Telles as recent injuries sustained by Brandon Williams and Luke Shaw have left the Red Devils short of left-backs.

Portuguese outlet A Bola reports that the 27-year-old Brazilian has long been on the transfer radar of United, who under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are ready to take their pursuit of the left-back to the next level this summer.

Europa League winners Sevilla are also keeping close tabs on Telles but it is claimed that the player’s representatives are already in Sevilla to seal his move to the Old Trafford outfit.

The Brazil international has only one year remaining on his contract with Porto and was previously eyed by PSG who ended their pursuit of the left-back due to Porto’s €30m valuation of Telles.
