Odegaard to Arsenal? Norway manager explains why the Real Madrid ace will be a good signing for the Gunners

ligaliveatmorning23january1″]Reports coming out from Spain claim that the Real Madrid ace  is close to joining Arsenal on a six-month loan in 2020 January transfer window.

Norway national team manager Stale Solbakken has claimed Real Madrid ace Martin Odegaard would be a good signing for Arsenal – should the Premier League outfit complete his signature.

Odegaard, 22, is currently on the fringes of Los Blancos squad and has reportedly asked manager Zinedine Zidane to let him leave on loan this month. He has made only 3 La Liga starts for Madrid and is reportedly aching for more first-team action.

Mikel Arteta’s side aren’t the only side interested in the Norwegian’s signature though. La Liga outfit Real Sociedad, for whom he scored 16 goals in 36 outings last season, also want him but. But Odegaard himself prefers a move to Arsenal over returning to Sociedad.

Athletic reporter David Ornstein earlier claimed on the Twitter that the Gunners’ proposed loan signing of Odegaard is 90% done, igniting reports about how the Arsenal, who have regained their form in recent weeks, would line-up with Odegaard.

Norway manager Solbakken: Odegaard to Arsenal would be good for Gunners

“First of all, if it happens, I think it shows that Martin has an extremely high confidence in himself,” Solbakken told VG journalist Arilas Ould-Sadda. “Considering he is going to a new league and team that have improved a lot lately, climbed the table and had some good wins.

The way Arsenal play can fit him well, a kind of football that suits him. He can also play in different midfield roles, whichever Arteta chooses. He will get assists and be a good team player.”
