Transfer deals completed at the last moment
After signing full-backs, Jose Mourinho gets his hand over Swansea and Wales’ center-back Joe Rodon.
It seems that former Chelsea boss has the full support of Chairman Daniel Levy as Spurs complete another signing on domestic deadline day with Welsh international Rodon securing an £11m transfer to North London Club.
The 22-year-old signed a five-year contract with Spurs which will keep him at the club until 2025 after impressing with the national team and Championship side Swansea.
Rodon has marked himself as a regular first-team player with Wales and started all three UEFA Nations League games in the recent week taking his international caps tally to seven. The 6 ft. 3-inch defender will join teammates Gareth Bale and Ben Davies at Tottenham.
Before moving to Spurs, Rodon made 54 senior appearances for the club and the Swansea youth academy product may start in Sunday’s London derby against West Ham United.
Butland, who was rated as one of England’s best, is having a nightmare at Stoke City and the 27-year-old hasn’t feature for the Championship side since 5-0 hammering against Leeds United back in July.
The youngest ever goalkeeper to play for England lost his place to Wales’ Adam Davies since that and is now desperate to play again as his promising start to the career seeing a constant decline.
