Perez still wishes to see Neymar at the Bernabeu, Messi incomparable to anyone according to Valverde and more

The Brazilian superstar has long been on the transfer radar for Los Blancos, and it has now been suggested that Real‘s president still longs to see the mercurial forward pull on the famous shirt.

Neymar‘s former agent, Wagner Ribeiro, claims that Florentino Perez is still keeping tabs on the PSG forward and could try and pull off an audacious move during the summer. Neymar was wanted by both Clasico rivals as a Brazil youngster, but he eventually chose Barca and made the move to Catalunya in 2013. He switched Spain for France in 2017, joining PSG in a blockbuster deal worth €222 million.

Ribeiro, however, is of the belief that Perez will try and get his signature once more, if the chance arises. “Last year, I went to Perez’s office and he confessed that signing Neymar is still one of his dreams,” he revealed to ESPN. He also added that he tried to get him to sign for Real, but that the Brazilian always preferred Barcelona.

It remains to be seen whether Ribeiro’s words will come to fruition, with European leagues still far from conclusion and finances set to drop due to the ongoing pandemic crisis.

A former Barcelona boss went on to discuss Messi’s abilities, claiming that he is a unique player and a pleasure to work with on a daily basis.

Ernesto Valverde heaped praise on Leo Messi, stating he found it very easy to coach the Argentine ace. Valverde spent almost three seasons at the helm of Barcelona, guiding the team to four major trophies, but also faced European heartbreak in spectacular fashion which ultimately cost him his job.

The majestic playmaker helped himself to an incredible 96-goal haul during Valverde’s first two years, winning a host of individual trophies, culminating with a record-breaking sixth Ballon d’Or award.

His former boss witnessed his abilities first-hand, as he explained: “Messi simply did things in training that I’ve never seen before. Even when you think you know the best option, he goes on and finds an even better one than yours. I know we all have a chance to see him play from afar, but seeing him up close is another thing altogether.”

The agent who played a key part in Iker Casillas’ switch from Spain to Portugal has had his appeal rejected and now faces up to four years in prison for fraud.

Santos Marquez Gonzalez, who facilitated the legendary Real Madrid goalkeeper’s transfer to Porto in 2015, has had his appeal upheld in the Baleria Court of Justice today. It was initially handed to him in Palma Provincial Court in 2019. He is claimed to have committed a few irregularities, deceiving both his former agency partner and his former employers.

He has been found guilty on all charges and will face a jail sentence of four years, as well as a €2,166 fine. He is also banned from any professional activities across the duration of this jail sentence.

Casillas went on to spend 4 years at Porto, winning two domestic league titles and the Portuguese Super Cup. After he suffered from a heart attack at the end of last season, he spent a prolonged time on the sidelines and announced his retirement from football in February.
