“It’s been six years at Spurs, and right now I am working with the most unsettled group of players,” he added. When Pochettino was asked whether the Newcastle match was the last game of Eriksen in the Spurs shirt, he replied that he would not know as the situation is too difficult. The Denmark international did not start a single game this season. Next up for Spurs is Arsenal, and it remains to be seen whether Vertonghen and Eriksen start in the North London Derby.

PSG beat Toulouse by 4-0 this Sunday but the focus of the match was the injury to both Kylian Mbappé and Edinson Cavani. Mbappé was substituted in the 2nd half due to thigh problem while Cavani played only 14 minutes as he struggled with the groin.

However, no official news has yet been received on how long the duo will be out. The status of the two may have an impact on the fourthcoming transfer of Neymar as both Real Madrid and Barcelona remain interested in the Brazilian.

For the whole summer, the 27-year-old stayed in the transfer news looking to escape the French capital and return to Spain. Until now, PSG appeared to be open for the transfer of the world’s most expensive player.

But if Mbappé and Cavani are ruled out for a significant time, this transfer may be out even before the European transfer window closes in early September. Other than Neymar, Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting is the only striker who Paris can call on in this injury crisis.

Barcelona meanwhile have not abadoned their interest in the Brasilian international as the reigning LaLiga champions are expected to make a fourth bid. PSG has already rejected all 3 initial offers. According to reports in France, Barcelona are adding more weight to their bid with the inclusion of Ousmane Dembele who was injured in the opening LaLiga fixture and was ruled out for 4.5weeks.

Telefoot – a French media outlet – is reporting that Neymar may be staying at Parc des Princes after his relationship with the PSG board have recently improved.

PSG are looking to win another Ligue 1 title and also have ambitions to reach further in the Champions League. The French champions are 3rd in the league table after winning two out of three opening fixtures. PSG will face Metz in the league this weekend – with or without Neymar playing.
