Premier League summer transfer window dates confirmed, Arsenal suffer transfer blow and more

After conclusion of the ongoing campaign before the end of this month, the Premier League summer transfer window will open on July 27.

Premier League has confirmed the summer transfer window will remain open between July 27 and October 5, reports Sky Sports.

The transfer window will be open for all clubs the day after the 2019/20 Premier League campaign ends and will remain open for business until 11pm on October 5.

Subject to the approval of both parties, another transfer window will open between the Premier League and EFL between October 5 and 5pm on October 16.

This period would allow the clubs from the English top-flight to buy, sell and loan players to the lower league clubs but transfer between the Premier League clubs won’t be allowed during this time.

The 27-year-old Ghana international was linked with a move to the Emirates stadium after it emerged that Matteo Guendouzi fell out of favor with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal transfer target Thomas Partey is set to snub transfer approaches from the Gunners and commit his long-term future to Atletico Madrid by signing a long-term contract with the Rojiblancos.

Mikel Arteta had reportedly identified the 27-year-old defensive midfielder as a major transfer target as he looked to bolster his midfield department ahead of next season.

The Gunners already have the likes of Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi who can play in that role, although while the former has been out of form of late, the latter has fallen out of favor with his manager due to his antics both on- and off-the-pitch.

But Arteta might be stuck with both for next season if report from GhanaSoccerNet is to be believed. The report claims that Partey is set to sign a new £135,000 per-week contract with the Wanda Metropolitano residents that will see him earning twice of what he is currently getting from the Madrid-based club.

Ahead of their FA Cup semi-final clash with Chelsea on the weekend, the Red Devils face Crystal Palace at the Selhurst Park Stadium on Thursday night.

Manchester United’s left-back duo Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams are injury doubts ahead of the side’s crucial Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on Thursday night, as per Goal.

Monday’s Court of Arbitration for Sport’s verdict in favor of Manchester City means that the Red Devils have it all to play for in their remaining three games of the English top-flight campaign.

City’s acquittal on appeal from the two-year European ban UEFA had imposed on them means that United either have to finish in the top-four or win the Europa League to play in the Champions League next season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side is currently level on points with 4th placed Leicester City, though the Foxes have a better goal difference helping them reside above the Red Devils in the table.
