Ligue 1 Champions made their first summer signing after agreeing to a bumper deal with Inter Milan’s striker who was on loan at the French capital, claims Sky Sports.
Mauro Icardi, who completed his loan move to Parc des Princes last September, has reportedly agreed to pen down the agreement worth €57m to extend his stay at Paris SG.
Inter Milan was a dream club for the former Sampdoria striker when he joined Nerazzurri in 2013, scoring 111 goals in 188 appearances during the process. However, Antonio Conte’s arrival at the San Siro at the end of 2018-19 season, didn’t go in the favor of Argentinean as he was left out of Inter’s squad under the Italian tactician.
But the 27-year-old showed his class in France, scoring 20 times in 31 appearances which convinced French Champions to secure his services for much longer than expected.
Things didn’t go according to the plan at the start for the Italian manager – who joined Stamford Bridge in July 2018 – as Chelsea lost 2:0 against Manchester City in the Community Shield but later the 61-year old become the first manager to remain undefeated throughout his first 12 PL fixtures.
