RB Leipzig see £20m bid for striker rejected, Bayern Munich identify Thiago Alcantara replacement and more news

After selling Timo Werner to Chelsea earlier this summer, the Bundesliga outfit are looking to sign a replacement of the Germany international.

RB Leipzig have seen a £20m bid for Alexander Sorloth rejected by Crystal Palace, according to a report by the Daily Mail.

Julian Nagelsmann is keen to sign the 24-year-old striker to replace Timo Werner who joined Chelsea in a £49m move earlier this summer. The RB Leipzig manager was also previously interested in signing Patrick Shick from Roma before the striker agreed terms with Bayer Leverkusen.

Sorloth was snapped up by Palace in a £9m deal from FC Midtjylland in January 2018 but was subsequently loaned out to Gent after he failed to impress during his first year at Selhurst Park. The Norwegian striker managed to score just 1 goal in his first 20 appearances for Palace before being sent out on loan.

The 21-year-old returned to the Eagles last summer before he was again shipped out out on a two-year loan to Turkish outfit Trabzonspor.  He has been in sensational form in Turkey, scoring 33 times in his first season in the country.

The reigning Bundesliga champions are still awaiting an offer from Liverpool from Thiago who has also attracted interest from Manchester United over the past few days.

Bayern Munich will try and sign Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic if Thiago Alcantara ends up leaving the Bundesliga outfit this summer, as per Sport1 [via The Mirror].

Hansi Flick is hoping to convince the Spaniard to extend his stay at Allianz Arena but the midfield maestro has already made clear he wishes to move on. Premier League champions Liverpool have been linked with the 29-year-old all summer, though the Reds are yet to make a move.

The report linking Bayern with the Inter midfielder further claims that the Bavarian outfit have already held initial talks with the Serie A side over a potential transfer. However Bayern have to move quickly if they are to sign the 27-year-old as Brozovic is also attracting interest from elsewhere.

90min reports that Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea are also keeping tabs on the player who made 46 appearances for the Nerazzurri in all competitions last season, scoring three goals in the process.
