Real Madrid duo facing medical tests, Odion Ighalo makes Man United loan request and Barcelona star closes door on exit

More than two months after Los Blancos players returned to training, the duo is feeling the heat of the rigorous training regime.

Real Madrid stars Nacho Fernandez and Fede Valverde are set to face precautionary tests before they could join their teammates in the upcoming training sessions.

Marca reports that the training sessions devised by Zinedine Zidane and his assistant Gregory Dupont have taken their toll on the duo. Both of them will have to convince the club’s medical staff that they are physically ready to continue training as normal before they could join other Madrid ‘stars.

The report further claims that the club’s doctors believe that Valverde is fit and will be ready to train as normal from today. However, their outlook on Nacho isn’t as bright as they feel that the full-back still has to follow a lighter training routine for the next few days.

Aside from the Spanish duo, the likes of Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz are other players whose respective injury situations are concerning for the club.

The former Watford striker has less than a few days remaining on the loan deal that he signed with the Red Devils in January.

Odion Ighalo has personally requested his parent club Shanghai Shenhua to let him finish the currently suspended season at Manchester United, reports Manchester Evening News.

The former Watford striker, who joined the Red Devils on a six-month loan spell in January, will cease to be a Man United player once his loan deal with the Old Trafford giants expires on Sunday.

United have entered into negotiations with their Chinese Super League counterpart to try and get a contract extension for the player but so far the talks have proved to be inconclusive.

Shanghai Shenhua have told the striker they could offload him permanently should a suitable door arrives for him in the summer. However, United have told both the player as well as his parent-club that they aren’t interested in signing him on a permanent basis.

Top News 3: Arthur wants to stay at Barcelona

Arthur Melo Vs Miralem Pjanic: Comparison as Barca and Juventus complete swap deal

Sky Sports report that the Brazilian has told the Camp Nou giants that he intends to stay at the club beyond the upcoming summer transfer window.

Arthur has told Juventus and Barcelona that he has no desire of leaving Quique Setien’s side when the transfer window reopens next month.

The message from the 23-year-old must have come as a shock to Barcelona who were planning to include him in a swap deal for Juve’s Miralem Pjanic.

Barca need to sell players to raise funds or complete player-swap deals for new signings this summer, with the club’s huge wage bill and the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic hitting the La Liga leaders hard in the pocket.

Arthur’s admission that he is planning to stay put means that the Blaugrana will have to find a different player to tempt the Old Lady into agreeing a swap-deal for the midfielder.
