Real Madrid identify Ramos replacement, Man Utd eye former Man City manager as Solskjaer replacement and more news

The Real Madrid captain, who has won 22 trophies during his 15-year-long stay at Santiago Bernabeu, is attracting transfer interest from the likes of Manchester United and PSG.

Real Madrid will try to sign David Alaba if they aren’t able to strike a contract renewal agreement with Sergio Ramos, according to AS.

Los Blancos captain Ramos is currently in the final year of his contract with the club and will be free to striker a pre-contract deal with other clubs in January. He is currently negotiating with Zinedine Zidane’s side to reach an agreement that would ensure his stay in Madrid beyond next summer.

The sticking point in negotiation between both sides is the Spain international’s demand that Madrid award him a two-year contract with a small pay raise.  This is against the policy of Los Blancos who only offer one-year extensions to players over 30.

Provided both the sides aren’t able to resolve their differences in a few months’ time, Real will move on and try to secure Alaba on a free transfer, as the Bayern Munich centre-back will also be a free-agent at the end of the ongoing campaign.

After the Red Devils’ average start to the 2020/21 campaign, speculations about the future of their manager refuse to die down.

Manchester United are considering former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini as a replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, per Tutto Sport.

Solskjaer is under immense pressure at United after the Red Devils’ average start to the domestic campaign. The Old Trafford outfit have won just three of their opening 7 Premier League games and currently sit at 14th in the table.

United’s players looked to ease the pressure on their manager with their scintillating victories in the UEFA Champions League over PSG and RB Leipzig. However, the pressure is now back on Solskjaer after the Red Devils were beaten by Istanbul Basaksehir in the third gameweek of the competition.

And now reports coming out from Italy claim that the Red Devils won’t hesitate in replacing the Norwegian with his Italian counterpart if the club’s form doesn’t improve in the coming weeks.

The former Napoli player had followed the Italian manager to Chelsea after playing under his tutelage at the Sao Paolo Stadium.

Jorginho could reunite with his former manager Maurizio Sarri at the Italian manager’s next club, notes the Chelsea midfielder’s agent.

The player-manager duo combined perfectly at the Sao Paolo Stadium for three years to help Napoli remerge as a major force in Serie A. Both then bid farewell to the Italian outfit at the same time to join Chelsea in the summer of 2018.

While Sarri was sacked as the Blues’ manager after leading them to Europa League title in the 2018/19 campaign, Jorginho stayed put at Stamford Bridge and has become a key part of the side under the Italian’s predecessor Frank Lampard.

The defensive midfielder’s main legal representative, Joao Santos, has claimed that although his client is happy with life in the Premier League, the 28-year-old would like to once again join his forces with his old mentor.
