Real Madrid transfer news: Zinedine Zidane reveals January transfer window plans

In the build up to his side’s La Liga clash with Elche, the Los Blancos manager appeared to rule out any departures from the club next month.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has claimed there would be no potential departures from the club in the January transfer window, reports MARCA.

The reigning La Liga champions clash with newcomers Elche in La Liga on Wednesday and with a hectic fixture schedule round the corner, the French manager expects to carry on with the players that are already his disposal at Santiago Bernabeu.

That means bad news for couple of players, including Luka Jovic and Isco. Jovic has fallen down the pecking order at Real Madrid this season and was reportedly eyeing a return to Eintracht Frankfurt. Isco, meanwhile, is also frustrated with the lack of playing time coming his way.

Another player many expected to leave Madrid in January was striker Mariano Diaz. However, after the forward suffered a serious injury last week, he’d be spending the next few months on the sidelines and won’t be going anywhere in January.

Will Real Madrid sign anyone in January 2021?

Zinedine Zidane’s assertion that his club won’t let any player leave in January has fueled speculations about any incomings: will Real Madrid sign Erling Haaland in January? Or will the Los Blancos wait until next summer to combine their pursuit of the Norwegian with that of Kylian Mbappe?

Reports over the past few months offer us answers to both these questions. The club’s financial position isn’t strong enough for it to commit funds to new signings in January. It is therefore likely that they’d try for both the abovementioned superstars in the summer.
