Recently appointed West Brom manager Sam Allardyce aims dig at Arsenal

Fourteen games into the 2020/21 campaign, the Gunners are sitting at 15th place, just seven points off 19th placed West Bromwich Albion.

New West Brom boss Sam Allardyce has aimed a dig at Arsenal by claiming Mikel Arteta’s outfit are ‘absolutely’ new side’s relegation rivals, per Daily Mail.

The Gunners are currently enduring their worst start to a domestic campaign since 1974 and sit just two points off relegation places. A defeat in their next fixture, which is against Chelsea at home, might see the Gunners drop to 17th in the table if results elsewhere don’t go their way.

And that is pretty much likely given that the North London outfit haven’t defeated an English side in any competition since the start of November. Arsenal’s last victory in the league came at Manchester United on November the 1st and they have failed to win any of their seven league game since.

Little wonder than Allardyce – who has been given the task to take the 19th place Baggies out of the relegation scrap – believes that the Gunners’ players might be wondering ‘what has hit them’ after their 3-1 defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup quarter final in midweek.
