Revealed – Three most expensive players on the planet

Given the fact that his meteoric rise at Borussia Dortmund has caught everyone by surprise, it shouldn’t amaze anybody to note that the 20-year-old is the 3rd most expensive player on the planet.

England and Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is currently the third most expensive player on the planet, as per CIES Football Observatory.

Sancho has been one of the best players in the Bundesliga this season, scoring 17 goals and managing 16 assists in the 2019/20 German top-flight campaign.

His form for the Signal Iduna Park residents hasn’t gone unnoticed back home in England where Manchester United are reportedly putting together a deal that would convince the England international to return to the city he left three years ago in search of more regular first-team football.

The Red Devils’ faithful hope that the package their club would prepare for Sancho would convince the winger to sign for their club. Dortmund, meanwhile, are apparently dragging their feet as they show no sign of accepting anything less than their stated price of over £100m for the winger.

#2: Raheem Sterling

Although more than a few eyebrows were raised when Man City signed the winger for £49m from Liverpool in 2015, the England international has silenced his doubters with his performances.

Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling is currently the 2nd most expensive player on the planet, with the former Liverpool star being valued at £173.6m by the Football Observatory.

The 25-year-old has been one of the most consistent performers for City over the past three seasons and has helped Pep Guardiola’s side clinch back to back Premier League titles.

His performances before football was halted due to the global health crisis were once again up to the mark as Sterling had scored 20 goals in only 38 appearances in all competitions.

Little wonder, then, with Man City challenging the two-year Champions League ban imposed on them by UEFA, rumors claim that the England international might end up moving to Real Madrid if City end up getting an unfavorable verdict on their appeal.

The French superstar might only be 21 years of age but he has already helped his country win the FIFA World Cup in his debut campaign in the competition.

In a news that is going to surprise no one, Football Observatory has valued Kylian Mbappe at a jaw-dropping £231.1million, in other words labeling him the most expensive player on the planet.

Mbappe was once again in the form of his life before the coronavirus pandemic convinced the French football authorities to suspend the 2019/20 campaign and give the championship to PSG.

The French striker had managed 18 goals and another 5 assists in only 17 top-flight starts for Thomas Tuchel’s side, with his 5 goals and 4 assists in the Champions League also indicating that the player is worth every penny they are paying to keep him at the Parc des Princes.
