After seeing Aleksandar Kolarov join Inter Milan during the summer transfer window, Roma have reportedly set their sights on the Arsenal full-back.
Paulo Fonseca’s side are in search for a left-back after selling Aleksandar Kolarov to Inter during the summer transfer window. The former Manchester City full-back’s departure has left Roma with injury-prone Spinazzola and young Calafiori.
Kolasinac has been put up for sale by the Gunners as the Bosnian has fell down the pecking order at The Emirates. He is currently the third-choice left back at Mikel Arteta’s disposal, with both Kieran Tierney and Bukayo Saka ahead of him.
The Bosnia international was also linked with Bayer Leverkusen over the summer and will be available on a cheap in January despite two years remaining on his contract at Arsenal.
Ceballos, 24, has been at Arsenal since joining the Gunners on a season-long loan at the start of last season. The Spain international returned to Madrid in the summer before returning to the North London club after extending his stay in the Premier League by an additional year.
Pep Guardiola needs a central midfielder that could fill the gap left by the departure of David Silva earlier this summer. The Catalan already has Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Ilkay Gundogan who could play in that position but he still wants an additional option.
The Spanish midfielder himself is in a tricky position. He is not in the immediate plans of Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane and is only at the club because of the refusal of Los Blancos chiefs to sanction his permanent departure. A convincing proposal by City, therefore, could lure him away from Bernabeu.
Ligalive had reported a few days ago that Jose Mourinho’s side were on the verge of completing the signing of Swansea City centre-back.
Spurs have already brought in six players on loan or permanently during the summer. They have signed Gareth Bale on loan, Joe Hart on a free transfer and have paid transfer fees to sign the likes of Carlos Vinicius, Pierre-Emile Hojberg, Matt Doherty and Sergio Reguilon.
Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing in a new centre-back after seeing Spurs fail in their attempts to sign Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar. The Slovakian was Spurs’ first-choice centre-back but his high price tag forced the Premier League outfit to turn their attentions elsewhere.
Rodon’s potential arrival at the club would mean that Spurs have completed the signings of seven players or loan or permanently over the past few months.
