The 35-year-old forward earns almost four times more than the next highest paid player in Serie A, his teammate Matthijs De Ligt who reportedly earns around €60,000 per week, or €8m per year. He is followed by Inter Milan duo Romelu Lukaku (€7.5m/year) and Christian Eriksen (€7.5m/year).
Both the Nerazzurri stars earn the same as their Roma counterpart Edin Dzeko. All three of them, however, earn more than the out-of-favor Juventus striker Paulo Dybala. The Argentina superstar is on the fringes of Andreas Pirlo’s side but still takes home a sweet €7.3m every 12 months before taxes.
Dybala is joined on the list by two of his Juventus teammates – Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey. The duo, like Dybala, have been unable to make their mark this season but their contracts obligate Juventus to pay each of them around €7m in wages every year.
Next two players on the list both ply their in Milan and earn the same in annual salary. They are Inter’s Alexis Sanchez and AC Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The duo has endured contrasting fortunes on the pitch this season but there’s one thing that unites them: an annual salary of €7m.
Completing our list of top ten highest paid players in Serie A are the Old Lady’s Leonardo Bonucci and Wojciech Szczesny and Inter’s Arturo Vidal. All three of them are currently on the wrong side of 30s but still justify their 6.5m annual salaries by putting in excellent performances every week.
