All three will be available for free in the summer transfer window
With the coronavirus pandemic taking a hit at the clubs’ financial power, the futures of Premier League stars who will become free agents on June 30 has been thrown into disarray.
Adam Lallana is one of the top three Premier League players who will become free agents on June 30, with the Liverpool midfielder linked with a move to Leicester City on the expiry of his contract with the reigning European champions.
The 31-year-old former Southampton man, who will be turning 32 next month, joined the Reds as they used the Luis Suarez’ transfer money to lure in a plethora of new signings in the 2014/15 summer transfer window.
Although the Brazilian has repeatedly explained his desire to extend his stay at Stamford Bridge, it seems that he too would be bidding farewell to his teammates at the end of June.
Willian arrived at Chelsea amid controversial circumstances in August 2013, with the Brazilian opting to join the Blues even though he had already completed a medical at Tottenham by then.
His decision to swap shirts midway through the deal proved excellent for both Willian and Chelsea, who have taken advantage of the 31-year-old’s pace and trickery down their right flank.
Willian has been named Chelsea’s Players’ Player of the Year twice during his seven-year-long stay at the club, with the Brazilian helping the Blues win two Premier League titles and a UEFA Europa League trophy.
The 34-year-old former Spain international has been a key part of the Man City side that gatecrashed the traditional elite after its takeover by UAE-based owners in 2008.
Silva joined the Citizens on a four-year deal that has since been extended twice as his importance to the club grew during his decade-long stay in Manchester. The former Valencia man was initially deployed on the wing by Roberto Mancini before his role became more central in the coming seasons.
The switching of positions has served the City number 21 well as he has helped his side win four Premier League titles over the last ten years. The Citizens have also won two FA Cups, five League Cups and three Community Shield titles during his stay.
His importance to the club could be gauged by the fact that the 34-year-old was named in PFA Team of the Year most recently at the end of the 2017/18 campaign. He was also honored as Man City’s player of the season a year before that.
