According to reports coming out from Spanish media, four Manchester City players are unhappy with their manager extending his stay at the Etihad.
Four Manchester City players are upset with Pep Guardiola and are considering leaving the club in the summer, reports Don Balon.
Most notable among them is Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgium international is yet to sign a new contract with Man City, and with his existing deal with the club ending in two years’ time, Don Balon claims that it’s his turbulent relationship with his manager that is keeping the midfielder from agreeing a new deal.
Then there is Riyad Mahrez. The Algerian started the season in superb fashion and scored 4 Premier League in his first seven games this season. But with Guardiola opting for Ferran Torres or Phil Foden ahead of him in recent weeks, Mahrez’s relationship with his manager has reportedly ‘broken’.
Next on the list of players whose rapport with their manager is anything but ideal is central midfielder Bernardo Silva. The former Monaco star was the lynchpin of City in their 2018/19 title-winning campaign but has disappeared from starting lineups this campaign. He too could leave next summer.
The final player who is unhappy with his manager is Sergio Aguero. But his troubled association with his boss won’t trouble Man City higher-ups that much given that Aguero will leave the side upon the expiry of his current deal at the end of this season to join his next club.
