Why Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest footballer of all time

He has won seven domestic league titles, five Champions League trophies and four FIFA Club World Cups in his trophy-laden career.

Will Cristiano Ronaldo return to Man Utd or Real Madrid? Portuguese ‘instructs agent’ to seal transfer

The 35-year-old Portugal international has won seven domestic league titles, five Champions League trophies and four FIFA Club World Cups in his trophy-laden career.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s transformation from a winger that bamboozled opposition’s full backs with his tricks to a striker that now gets the better of centre-halves for fun shows why he is currently the greatest footballer of all time.

Earlier this month on January 4, Ronaldo scored the 757th and 758th goals of his trophy-laden career to overtake Brazilian legend Pele on the list of top goal scorers in the history of football. Pele had scored 757 goals during his playing days with Santos and New York Cosmos.

Seven days later, the Portuguese moved joint top on the list of top goal scorers with his strike in the dying stages of Juventus’s 3-1 victory over Sassuolo. That means he only needs one goal before he eventually hangs his boots to become the most prolific goalscorer of all time.

What’s more, Ronaldo was named the best striker in Europe over the last two decades in 2020. That means that he’s (rightly) been recognized as being the best in his position by FIFA for at least 20 years. Surely that should make him worthy of the tag of the greatest footballer of all time.

Is Cristiano Ronaldo a billionaire?

Ligalive reported last year, quoting Forbes, that Ronaldo is indeed a billionaire. In fact, he’s the only footballer in history who has raked in such a huge amount during his playing days. Not even David Beckham or Lionel Messi come close to the Portuguese in this regard.

That shouldn’t come as a surprise given the fame Ronaldo enjoys worldwide. Juventus had sold 520,000 of jerseys with his name on the back within 24 hours of his arrival in 2018 and the Portuguese has over 200 million followers on Instagram. Brands love him and money follows suit.
