  • His return to the side might mean bad news for Alexandre Lacazette who started against Tottenham due to the Gabonese’s absence

Here’s everything you need to know about Arsenal Vs Olympiacos Europa League R-16 2 nd leg clash:

Will Aubameyang start?

Mikel Arteta’s decision to leave the Gunners’ skipper out of his side for last weekend’s North London derby surprised everybody as nobody was sure until after the game why the 31-year-old was in the stands and not out there on the pitch.

It was only after post-match reports confirmed the reason for his absence – Aubameyang was late a for a team meeting in the build-up to the clash – that the Gunners’ faithful realized that it wasn’t any unreported injury that had kept theirs main man out of the XI.

However, now that the former Borussia Dortmund man has learned his lesson, one could expect that Arteta would include him in the Arsenal starting lineup Vs Olympiacos.

Team and injury news

The North London outfit have only one known injury concern ahead of Thursday. England international Bukayo Saka will watch the game from the sidelines as he’s recovering from the hamstring injury he picked up during Sunday’s North London derby victory over Spurs.

The 19-year-old’s absence might be keenly felt by the Gunners, not least because he has been one of their best performers this season. However, given that they are already two goals up in the tie, Saka’s absence might not make that big of an impression on the tie’s final result.

How will Arsenal lineup vs Olympiacos?

With Aubameyang back in the starting lineup and Saka watching the game from the sidelines, Arsenal’s starting XI on Thursday will have at least two changes from the lineup that started the North London derby at the weekend.

Aubameyang is expected to replace Lacazette in the side that put Spurs to the sword on Sunday, with Nicolas Pepe expected to serve as Saka’s replacement in the side.

Arsenal predicted XI vs Olympiakos : Leno; Bellerin, Luiz, Mari, Soarez; Ceballos, Xhaka; Pepe, Smith-Rowe, Willian; Aubameyang
