Zinedine Zidane continue to insist on transfer target, Bundesliga ace reiterates desire to join Liverpool and more

Despite the fact that Pogba has spent a better part of the currently-suspended season on the treatment table, the Real Madrid manager is keen to sign the French World Cup winner.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is insisting that Los Blancos complete the signing of Paul Pogba in the summer transfer window, reports Mundo Deportivo [via Daily Star].

The Manchester United midfielder continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, with both Juventus and Real Madrid reportedly interested in his signature.

Pogba has spent the better part of this season on the injury table as speculation regarding his future continues to mount. He had indicated his desire to leave the Red Devils last summer but ended up staying put after United refused to lower their astronomical valuation of him.

However, despite missing out on the French midfielder last summer, Zidane is still very keen to come good on the second time of asking. Pogba was one of the first players the French manager wanted to sign when he returned to Santiago Bernabeu last March and that desire still holds strong.

After scoring 33 goals in 70 games for Wolfsburg since joining the Bundesliga outfit in 2018, the 27-year-old could soon be on the transfer radar of Liverpool.

In an interview with Goal and DAZN, Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst has once again expressed his desire to move to ‘’very special’’ Liverpool.

While the reigning European champions are reportedly interested in the striker’s RB Leipzig counterpart Timo Werner, that hasn’t stopped Weghorst from expressing his admiration for the Reds.

Weghorst moved to Bundesliga in the summer of 2018 after scoring 51 goals in 124 Eredivisie appearances during his stay in the Netherlands. The 27-year-old’s return of 33 goals in 70 appearances for Wolfsburg might not be enough to put him at par with Werner but is respectable nonetheless.

After the Egyptian superstar was substituted out of the game due to the resulting injury, the Reds were unable to get a foothold in the game.

Giorgio Chiellini has made a sensational claim in his new autobiography that Sergio Ramos knew ‘what he was doing’ when he injured Mohamed Salah’s arm during the 2018 Champions League final.

Ramos courted controversy in the final when his tackle on the Egyptian superstar forced Salah off in the first few minutes of the final.

The Real Madrid center back was vilified by the Reds’ faithful in the aftermath – and his Juventus counterpart Chiellini has pointed the accusatory finger direct at Ramos by insisting that he knows how to fall in a way that would ‘break the arm’ of the opponent player.

AS quotes the former Italy international as saying that injuring Salah was a ‘masterstroke’ on the part of Ramos. He added that the Spanish center-half was aware that he could break the rival’s arm nine times out of ten if he fell the way in which he did after getting entangled with the Liverpool forward.
